Birch Island Farm is a small, passionate family farm located near Mayerthorpe, Alberta, owned and operated by Lloyd and Roxane Penner. After relocating from Calgary in 2014, the Penners set out to raise healthier food for their family and their neighbours, and that founding spirit remains at the core of everything they do. Every animal on the farm is raised outdoors on fresh pasture, with plenty of sunshine, clean air, and daily access to fresh greens. The farm operates with a regular pasture rotation system that benefits both the animals and the land.

Birch Island Farm produces 100% grass-fed beef, pastured pork, pastured chicken, pastured turkey, and eggs from pastured hens, all raised without antibiotics, hormones, pesticides, herbicides, GMOs, or chemical fertilizers. Ordering is easy through their online store, with scheduled pickup locations to suit customers across the region. Farm tours are warmly welcomed by appointment, giving visitors a chance to see first-hand how thoughtful, ethical farming really looks.
